We have determined the elemental compositions of coals from seven major deposits in Nigeria. In addition, the percentage concentrations of Si, Fe and Al, as well as the concentrations of the trace elements (, K, Cl, Mg, Na and Ti) which are of significance in currently conceived conversion techniques, and quality upgrading processes of coals are reported.
